Frequently Asked Questions
That's a great question, and one that many people in pain want answered.
The truth is, there is no one-sized fits all answer. However, we can certainly help you gather more information so you can make a more informed decision.
If you are seeking an all natural, more long term solution to your pain, there is a good chance physical therapy can help you.
If you have tried physical therapy before but were left unhappy or without full relief, that doesn't mean that "physical therapy didn't work for you".
Most of our clients who have come to see us have also tried physical therapy before, and also left unhappy. They tell us they weren't given customized treatment that fixed their root cause, and weren't progressed to get back to their goals.
We're very aware that many people are skeptical, or unsure of physical therapy.
Perhaps you've had a not so great experience with a physical therapist or doctor in the past, who has let you down and provided you with insufficient care.
We've actually set up everything we do to be different than traditional physical therapy. But we know it can be hard to see the difference until you get started, so we have made it as easy and risk free as possible for you to see how Adapt Physical Therapy is different.
You have a few options for risk free, non-commital inquiries.

No, not at all. In New Jersey, we have what is called "direct access", which means you can see any physical therapist without a referral or prescription from an MD.
It is usually cheaper and quicker to see a physical therapist first. Nearly all of our clients self refer without needing to see an MD first.
In the case than an MD is needed, we would be glad to refer you to a trusted doctor
